When you walk into a public restroom, it’s always a pleasure to see a line of full privacy partitions rather than other types. Who doesn’t want more privacy when using a restroom?
Full Privacy Partitions are most often used in restrooms that have a low-to-average height ceiling. The wall panels and pilasters stretch from the floor to the ceiling, and the doors are hung in such a way that would remind you of a regular bathroom door rather than a stall or partition.
This is by far the fanciest toilet partition type, completely concealing the toilets as you walk into the restroom. When you go in one, it’s almost as if you’re walking into a private (albeit smaller) bathroom.
Pros and Cons of Full Privacy Partitions
Even the fanciest of partitions can have some drawbacks alongside their positives. Like anything out there, there are pros and cons.
Here are some things to consider before deciding on a style for your toilet partition.
Pros of Full Privacy Partitions
- It nearly goes without saying, but the largest pro about this style is the complete privacy it provides. All the spaces, gaps, and openings that are inherent with other styles of partitions have been concealed, leaving you to feel like you’re in a room separate from the entirety of the restroom.
- Aesthetically, these completely change the appearance of a restroom. Were it not for the visibility of urinals and sinks, you’d think they were a row of closets.
- Doors for Full Privacy Partitions are often more decorative than other stall types, having front door-like patterns built into them. But even when a standard door is used and there are no additional decorative patterns, they still give off a “more than a stall” feel.
- Being mounted from floor to ceiling, these partitions are extremely durable and are made to last a very long time.
Cons about Full Privacy Partitions
- The hardest hitter would probably be the price when compared to other toilet partition styles. These are the motherships of toilet partitions. In some circumstances, nearly double the materials are being used, which by itself will drive up the price of anything.
- This style would be a lot tougher for the janitor, having to get a lot more involved when trying to either mop or sweep. Clean-up time would be much slower with these units compared to more open types.
- Construction or setup time is increased compared to simpler units, but not at the bare bones level. Often, because they do appear as separate mini-rooms, additional finishing is applied to the exterior along the floor between doors and across the ceiling. This gives it a great look, but again, will become an additional cost.
Who Uses Full Privacy Partitions?
Because the Full Privacy Partitions have more to them and are more expensive, they are a rare find in the public arena. Often, these would be found in buildings that cater to private clubs or high-end, more expensive office buildings.
